Re: The lake in the fall

It's a pleasing scene overall. good composition even though, i'm not sure about the dark area on the right side. i wouldn't suggest cropping it though because it adds depth to the frame. without it the picture would look flat. I guess i just wish it wasn't so dark.

i'm not sure about the inclusion of a bit of the fence. I think had you had more it might have been better. other than that it's a pleasing fall shot.

If feels crooked to me, but I think that's because the fence line runs on an angle.

    Lovely colors.

I think a 3-shot exposure bracket and a little HDR would really have helped this image. - Terry

Terry - here is a Pseudo HDR version - there is much more detail in the shadows with this

Study the " Rule of Thirds " your horizon is to centered, also shooting during the golden hour would have helped too.

Re: The lake in the fall

Nice overall, the colors work together nicely even if there's not super intense color in the trees, at least from this distance.

To me, the image is much stronger w/o the bottom fence. It just creates a barrier to stops the viewer from 'entering' into the image. The left side of it is also too bright compared to the rest (there's not much you could do about that, however...).
