I took your advice with this great egret...

I photographed this great egret today using a D70 and Nikon 75-300 lens set to bracket using center weighted metering, aperture priority, at f/6/3 and ISO 640. The shutter was 1/2000, which was more than I wanted, but I was shooting in heavy shdows right before he took off. I had the lens at 300mm and he was probably 15 feet away.

Tell me what you think abd how you would improve it.

F8.... YOUR FOCUS IS SHALLOW .......

you need 4 feet of sharp focus for both wing tips at 15ft F8/ F9 SHOULD do it

so... was this at meter , below or above ?

This came out great, aside from the far wing tip and the tip of beak being slightly outof focus. The white did not blow out ( too much ), and the framing and quality of pic is fine.
    Great shootin

I think it is a great picture, I am not terribly over-fond of birds. I love how you were able to get this picture without it being blurry everywhere and the way the bird is just gliding along, very nice action. Terrific shot in my view.
