I'm having a hard time determining what your subject is...You may want to rethink your comp and go back and reshoot...

    Okay, my real comment is...WOW!

I don't know how to put this, but...I'm kind of a big deal...People know me.

That is a really nice shot Paul. Very sharp thru out the entire photo, and I love the light on the birds chest. I gotta get me a long, sharp lens like that one of these days...

WOW! What a fantastic shot! I'm amazed at the sharpness of this photo. One of the best in-flight captures I have seen in awhile. Thanks for sharing.

    Excellent shot!

I love red-tails. I live near Houston too. It looks like you got the focus nailed, captured a great moment in the action and I like the composition a lot. You got the whole bird in the frame and have some space for it to fly into. You even managed to get a very nice blue sky background. Two thumbs up from me!

Great shot, but if the shutter speed was a tad quicker, you'd avoid the blurring of the wings here. Though of course, a shot like this is rare, it would be nice to avoid the blurring of the moving wings. But given the circumstances,

    Great shot,

    Re: Hawk Taking Flight

A big thank you to all! This was actually taken on the same morning as the shots in the fog, just later after the fog cleared, of course. It was one of those rare days where photo ops were everywhere, and miraculously I was able to bring home more than one keeper!
