Excellent capture Greg! I'm no expert, but to me it's pretty darn near perfect.

Can we have some information on Camera, Lense, Speed, Film/Digital, etc please.

Didn't say there was anything "wrong" with the shot.

I think the breed is in the title of his post.

Thanks for the kind words. The camera used was a Canon EOS 20D and the lens was the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS with EF 1.4x II TC shot at 560mm and f/8 with a shutter speed of 1/200 sec. This shot was hand held.

    Hi Greg

I agree with Lara , beautiful shot , not even the little branch next to the bird is distracting .

    Very nice!

I think it's perfect with regards to exposure, sharpness, colors, well... everything but if there was one thing I could change it would be the trunk being behind the bird's head but that of course was unavoiadable. Great job, and handholding!

Hey dadas, excellent shot, especially handheld! Now comes the fun part. Editing! The picture to me looks a little dull. Try putting in some life and vividness by playing with the brightness and contrast controls. This is what i got. You can also put a bit more brightness or contrast, but be wary of overblowing the details of the feathers.

    Exellent Job,

    Mando

AMAZING species Greg! the exposure and position of the bird is GREAT . The only way to improve would be open up a bit to get the tail sharp too and the BG which CAN'T be helped(without cheating ). I would love to call this image mine!

OK....WHERE is my question, as I only know of them being in SOUTH Texas , and your area as a vagraint.
