    Games People Play

Thought I would give this a try. Here's one I took the other day using an Olympus C-750.

    I like this...

Very cool effect... it gives me a creepy feel. The contrast between the white and black is excellent and the reflections on the table are great.

This is arguably a very well crafted image. I agree with CaraRose that this is creepy though (in a totally positive way that is).

Thank you all for your comments!

Janie, would you mind explaining double exposure to me? Is it a film technique? I'm sorry if I sound a bit ignorant, but I know very little about film cameras and what can be done with them. One day I do plan to get a film SLR and learn these things, but right now I'm shooting strictly digital.

Here's some technical info on this shot. I shot it with an aperture of 7.0 and a shutter speed of 4 seconds, which was just long enough to give me a chance to knock down the domino's and for all of them to get captured in both the upright and down position. The camera was set to manual mode with the super macro turned on.

Once I was happy with the way the domino's fell, I took it to PS and converted it to B&W, boosted the contrast a tad, and resized.

Very creative technique you used - on some cameras there is a double exposure mode, it's like taking a picture and rewinding to use the same piece of film and taking the next picture. If you want to read a really good article on more techniques that I think you would enjoy, check this out:

Thanks for the info and link Janie, it was a big help! When I finally do get a film SLR, I'll have to make sure it has that feature so I can play with it.
