    Field of Many Colors

This is a shot as the sun was beginning to set. I used a 28-75 zoom at 28 mm, polarizer, and fuji superia 200. My Canon i9900 should have a blast printing this one out.

I like the colors, but it seems to be missing something. I'm not sure though, so I will have to come back to it. This is merely my first impression.

I like the colors as well, but I agree that it seems to be missing a focal point. It is very pretty to look at though.

What I really like about this shot is the different textures created by the different types of grasses and plants. I also like the elevation change; that sort of thing is in short supply around these parts, except for the nearby forest preserve so it's nice to see that sort of variance in other people's work. In general this photo is pleasing to the eye IMO. Has a sort of breezy mood to it, if that makes any sense.

I would say also, that the trees in the distance could be a little sharper. Not sure if that's a result of the wind blowing and a long DOF (slower shutter), or just a focus thing but probably you could fix it with a little USM. Also, my eyes may deceive me but the frame appears to be a *tiny* bit tilted to the right.

Otherwise, another compelling shot, Gary. Keep 'em coming.

Thanks for the time to comment
The frame does appear to be tilted to the right aa bit but the field and horizon was higher elevation on the right side. i was going to adjust it but then I decided against having it look straight and even. It does have a breezy feel, and when the wind blows all the tall grass flows back and forth. . .real pretty.
As for a focal point, hmmm... I kinda felt that the eye was always brought towards the darker shadow on the left of the frame. The tilt in the horizon towards the left, the texture and lines of the field going towards the left and the heavier cloud formation on the left over the shadow area.
I do appreciate all the feedback, and will say that I always think more about every frame I shoot thanks to the great insight and feedback given to me since I joined this forum at the beginning of this year.
