I think you should be very proud of these.... especially the top and bottom shots. You've done a great job of showing the action, expression, etc. My problems with the 3rd one is that hurdles are blocking your subject, and his eyes are (momentarily) closed. Did you shoot others?

You have a DSLR in your hands. Fire away and fill that card!

    Nice job,
    Tim

i really like the first and the last ones, lots of feeling coming out of these pictures very intense, and good focus. the middle ones can go into the file cabinet for later useage...just my opinion.

Very good timing on all your shots. You have managed to capture good facial expressions which is a real key to good sports images. the biggeest nit that I have with your photographs are that they all have some distracting background features. It is very dificult but work on finding angles that will help you elminate them or trya dn do some post proccessing that will tone them down or take them out. Overall a very good effort.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

yes i agree with the distracting back grounds, the girl in the background of the fourth shot really got to me i tried to crop her out but i couldnt without getting his legs. i find it very hard to avoid chain link fences at high school stadiums. ill have to learn more about processing and adobe to try and help out a bit. ill put a few others on when i get a chance but my disk isnt here with me. with the third shot i think his eyes were closed for the last half of the race, he was in a great deal of pain.

I actually think that girl adds something to the image. You see this guy with his face of complete concentration. He's barely making it over this bar which is obvioudly high because there's this girl in the background with a face of "WHAT THE?!"

Nice timing on all of them, and you can really 'feel' the action.

    Well done,

    Jared
