Have not popsted anything up here in a while so figured I would put something up from my latest shoot.
This is Narcissa. Model/dominatrix/ and all around sweetheart.

Shot with an Alt/ pinup style in mind.

She is very scarey! Otherwise it is a fine photograph.

Strong portrait. I like it. Lighting and everything seems to be right on.

I'm not sure about the limb exiting then reentering the frame at the bottom. I wish it was contineous in a way that the limb is always in the frame even if it's cut off at some points.

Also, there's a thin red line bottom left.

I'd like to see more of her left arm, but that red stripe implies something was in the frame?
I want to see the black of the glove continuing along the bottom edge of the image.
Not that gap as it curves out and then her hand appears.

Either that or accentuate it, take the arm down out of frame and then have even more of the hand higher on her hip/side but with a gap on the frame edge.
I think really it needs more hand on the left side of the image.

Definitely hit the pinup style, even with the subdued colours in the makeup.

Thanks for the time. I did not notice the red stripe at the bottom and its not there in the original dng file but i think it came about when i did a slight lens correction adjust in PS. (should have done it to the dng in LR) I have since cropped it away.

Actually, I had given much thought about the crop on the bottom and felt it balanced well with the left arm coming out and back into the frame. Since you both raised it as a concern I will have to rethink it and see how I feel.

I did have some issue with the right (foremost) eye being much wider open than the left. i liked it looking at the image at normal viewing distance, but looking at it from afar or the thumnail it seems to look like the left eye is squinting in comparison. struck me a bit odd. . .

CF, really not at all a frightening gal but then that could depend on the situation in which you were getting to know her ;)

I actually like the eyes on this shot a lot - they triangulate very well with the upper forearm and this amplifies the masculine pose, lending to the overall feel of "dominance". I'm going back and forth on the lower thumb though - can't make up my mind on that one. I don't think a crop would work as it would diminish the strong line of the back. A clone might, but then again it may not be necessary at all...dunno.

The arm cut has already been mentioned, so I will say that this one begs for context that a good background would provide. Try cutting her out and pasting her into a background like an old room. Fluid Mask is great foe this btw. Also, she seems to be looking down a bit which signifies submissiveness; I think if you could shoot just a little lower it would be better, and you would get a great calves workout @ the same time

Thanks for the thoughts, GB. Actually this is from a set of three shots (the other two are in my gallery here in PR) the other two are from a lower position as you noted and did give me a good calve workout :P but this last one was intended to be a straight on connecting with the camera type thing
I have not tried fluid mask but do use ReMask 3.1 when looking to swap backgrounds and such. These "pinuppy" type looks i do prefer against the white bg but I do see how moving it to another "location" would change the whole feel of it.
