    Feet

I took this one today with my digital rebel and EF 100-400mm IS lens.

Great feet. What kind of bird is it?

It's a little cluttered visually, but I can't imagine you could do anything about that. ;)

The bird is a common moorhen. Thank you for your comment.

    Re: Feet

I appreciate the difficulty in capturing bird photos that have that certain "something" to make them stand out. It's hard enough just to get the shot. This one is a bit cluttered and too centered for my taste. But, as I said before, still a tough capture - nice job.

    Re: Feet

The capture really isn't tough at all. I like to have some of the bird's environment in the picture becuse it tells you more about the bird. The reason the bird has such large feet is so that he can walk around on top of this sort of material in the marsh.

    Thanks for another thoughtful comment.

    Greg..

What big feet he has! How strange. What I like about this pic is that you have managed to get down to his level when shooting. It kind of gives it the birds eye view (no pun). All the swampy, grassy things around him that are really small, look large, which is how they would look to him in his world. I like it. I don't really notice the clutter, just looks like swamps look. If he had been a little sharper, he would have stood out more. Good shot.
