in the eye of a child

I have tried this one with a close-up of my son's eye and a bit of photoshop to add myself into the eye .

Could you tell me your thoughts on this one ?

    Regards

Hi James...I like the concept behind this. Your photoshopping is great, and I like the tiny drops you can see on the ends of his lashes.
One suggestion I can think of though, is that you might consider making it a smidgen less close-up, so that you can tell it's a child. I don't mean lose the entire idea, because obviously you don't want to defeat the purpose...but maybe include a bit of brow and the edge of the nose, so that you can tell it's a child's face.
    Very neat idea!

James, good to see you back. I think you did well with this and it looks good. Nice idea. I would just try another one where you have the eye in the left upper corner of the frame and more of the nose in the frame. Sort of along the thoughts that Emily mentioned. Good work, James and glad to see you around again.

Re: in the eye of a child

It bothers me that I don't see a "pupil" in the child's eye. It makes the child seem not alive, somehow. I'm wondering if you couldn't re-do it so that perhaps the lens of your camera could somehow substitute for the dark spot of a pupil, or something. Right now, I get an uncomfortable feeling from this shot. I like the little picture of *you* a lot, but the overall face just gives me a creepy feeling for the lack of what makes it "alive".

    Hi Kelly ,

I am not to sure what you mean , maybe if i reduce the opacity slider to make the inside photo a bit more transparent ( or a weaker effect )so that the pupil can stand out more .
I can understand why you get a incomfortable feeling from this shot .

It is worth it to do a reshoot .
Thanks for sharing your ideas .
    Regards
