Experimental London Photographs .. what do you think?

Hi all .. I'm submitting two experimental photos I did yesterday in London. Basically, it involves tripod mounting a digital camera and taking three pictures separated by a small gap. One is converted to red, one to green, and one to blue .. then, when the three pictures are put together, the stationary bits revert to their proper colout, whereas the moving bits show up as rainbow shades. The first is inthe Great Court at the British Museum, the other at Picadilli Circus. What do you think?

    Cheers
    Mike

    Re: Experiment

that's actually really sweet, for the second shot I think it's work better with less people, you could see everything going on

That is really funky, I prefer the second one the best as I find that the colours of the people don't fit in with the bland colour of the buildings. Very sweet though!

I really like the concept, its funky but nice. I stared at the pics for quite some time trying to wrap my head around them. I'd love to see more of this!

I think #2 works best, and this is a great idea.

Perhaps with less people I'd be able to identify the people waling in all 3 frames.
Then see their progress in the 3 colours, that would be neat.

I was struggling to see that but I think the photos were taken a while apart and people don't actually appear in more than one frame.

Very interesting concept. The woman on the left in the first photo appears to have been left out though.

Bravo! Very cool concept and idea.
I'm not of fan of digital, but this is just a great idea that only digital could do.
The second photo is my favorite because it has more action going on which I really like for this concept. Your composition is very nice on the second photo and I like how certain people standout in this photo. Well done.
    Cheers.

    Great concept!

First one is my pick, minus the big pink advertisement. Great idea and would love to see more of this type!

First image works best for me, really striking colours and a great subject matter to photograph, perhaps interesting to go back and try it out with fewer people in the shot?

    Thanks!

I think this is a very neat idea. I'm usually not into image manipulations, but I a fan of these. I especially like the bottom image. It has a nice contrast of old (building and statue) and new (colored modern people -- green "walk" sign is a bonus!).

The thing I find odd about this image is that the rising verticals are diverging. What lens did you use for this?

Re: Experimental London Photographs .. what do you think?

Hi all .. thanks very much for your comments. An old timer told me that there was a similar technique with film cameras which involved doing a triple exposure with three different filters. Digital is easiest though. I appreciate the comments about whether there are too many people in some of them - I'm going to continue to experiment and see what the best balance is. One of my club's categories this coming year is "Urban Landscape" - it might be an unusual take on that.

Old School asked about diverging verticals - no mystery here: I just slightly overdid the correction of the converging verticals!!

I am resubmitting the Great Court picture - after playing with it, I got the colour balance much better.

    Thanks again
