    The Erethral Dance

    I was reading the November issue of Practical Photography and got interested in the Oily Watercolor feature ...here is one of the results ...comments, as always, are welcome.

    It's quite interesting. I like your use of selectively coloring. I think may be it could use some sharpening though.

    it turned out great !

    the dark lines are ink ? it goes to the bottom right ? I guess that's why it looks soft vs the oil drops looking sharper

    Yes, the blacks are ink. However, this was taken looking down, so since there was about an half inch of water, some of the ink did go down deeper, causing it to appear out of focus. This was done with 2 macro extension tubes, so the depth of field is extremely shallow - I did sharpen it some later ...which was good feedback.

    Looks very different and abstract. I think it works, but, I also think that the subject (dots) need to be a bit sharper. Again, quite abstract!
