    Re: Dance

I like the line the mannequins and the girl in the poster, my eye goes right to the one the left then follows right to the poster.

I am not sure here Paul, maybe I am just not able to fully comment on this right now, work is bring me down.... :17:
Maybe I am trying to see something here and I am not..

Interesting, the image tones seem flat. The poster of the dancer could use some burning in. The glare of the window maybe causing this flatness.

    Re: Dance

I wonder how it would look without the reflections. The "DANCE" would appear unsupported in front of them with the glass les obvious.

    Re: Dance

Thank you all for the comments!

Brian, I'm not sure either. Glad you like the lines.

Jim, I agree about the tones and the glare needing some burning in. I didn't spend much time editing this one.

Mondo, thanks for the crop suggestion. I'll try that.

    Frog, thank you.

Chunk, I guess the glare is a bigger problem than I originally thought. I'll try to burn it in.

I appreciate all of the feedback on the technical issues, but I would like to hear more about what you think of the overall design of the image. Does the composition, content, subject matter, etc. appeal to you? Or, do you think it was a waste of time to stop and take this photo? All the technical issues aside, am I on the right track to making an interesting photo? Please be honest.

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Re: Dance

I think you did good controling the reflections. The things that both me is the dancers leg touching the maniqine, a couple of steps to the right would have helped, also the folded clothes on the left should be cloned out.

I was thinking that a using a polarizing filter when shooting through glass is always worth a try to minimize reflections and glare. Rotating it can almost make the glass disappear in some cases.

I like the shot with it's bit of humor. No matter how hard the dancer tries, I think the mannikins will still just stand there with their hands on their butts. The contrast of action with stillness is strong.
