    Don't Fence Me In

After three weeks of very heavy rain and now three weeks of mid-70's with brilliant sunshine (are you watching the Farmer's Open golf tournament?), San Diego is experiencing an early spring including wild flowers and moths/butterflies. Here is one I spied today while hiking in the back country.

I like the sharpness of the wings and antena, would have liked the body to be more in focus though. I'm really up in the air about the fence. It breaks up the flow and the shape of the moth. I get the idea that the title means to convey but would it work as well taken from the other side of the fence? More as a request then a plee from the animal.
    Nice catch.

    Re: Don't Fence Me In

    NKP,

Thanks for leaving your comments. I did not have much choice as to which side of the fence I would take the picture. This was taken while on a hike; the fence was part of a trail marker, I had no opportunity to get on the other side. I thought it a creative alternative to simply another shot of a moth. We'll see a dozen of those over the next few months.

But, I understand what you mean.

    Thanks again.
