Absolutely no effect. If you want to get the impression of how differs the night and the day, you have to shoot the same place from the same angle. The tripod would help there... Plus, try to add the second photo to the right of the first one, so that it would be one image, then it would be much easier to compare and form the impression, which now, as I said, is very poor.

Nice Pictures...
The B&W is very well composed and for an architectural photo very well done. It still needs something, like more contrast or people, something to give it more appeal and pop. It just lacking a tad bit.
The color picture is my favorite because I love the color. The purple and green are just great together and give it a very gotham feel. My problem with this picture is the DOF in the center of the picture or something weird is happening there. I think it's the DOF or is it because it's a night shot with no tripod?
Anyway, the composition is nice and the pictues has elements of interest...the signs, person and the caddy...all give me something to look at and explore.
Both are interesting shots. Good job.

It’s funny how humans see things differently. I like the B/W image. It has a great range of tones. I think it needs a little cropped off the bottom and you should check your vertical lines. It looks as if the image may be slightly askew. That’s the impression I get. The color doesn’t work for me. The building appears to be an after thought to everything that’s going on in the foreground.

I like the b&w best myself. I think the lighting is what makes it and good composition as well. The other shot I like for the colors and your elevated point of view of the street and the person, car and other interests, but i feel the b&w shot is the stronger.
btw, I think your title may have been a little misleading in that some may have thought there was to be a comparison of the same scene during day and night, such as in one of your past posts that i think you called " A minute later"? whereit was the same exact scene at a different moment in time.
