    I like what you've done, but you may want to tray adjusting some of the mid-tones as well as the "black" black and "whites. I always try to remember tha tthe best B&W photographs have pure black, pue white, and many, many greys in-between.

    hi info k - I have a question, did you burn in the image on the edges? The reason I ask is because I see a grey area to the right of her head, but i am not sure what that is, it looks to have more " noise" in it than the rest of the print....

    just wondering..

    Thanks for the feed back - I did not notice the gray area untill i saw the photo an another screen. To be honest Iam not quite sure what it is - I have touched it up in photoshop - looks much better now.

    I think the image works well compositionally, but agree with the comments above. You have good lighting on your subject and the use of darker edges does give it depth and mood. My struggle is I’m not sure of your point. It feels more like she is in morning than in prayer. I guess I would like something more to define the image like a candle in her hands (not that this is a good idea but it’s all I could think of for a suggestion). I hope this makes sense. You have a good start with this image.
