What a strong feeling of age and new life you've found. I like the strong perspective and the dimly seen arcadein the background. I think I would have probably gotten closer to the flowers, but this is better your way. A good balance here - the sparkle of the blooms is important, but the permanence and solidity of the structure is the real beauty. It must have felt great to see this through the viewfinder.

    Hi Gary,
I like the combination of the muted and bright colour which makes this pic very eye-catching. The moisture condensation in the front windows helps to blur the background, however, I find the clear windows at the back affect the continuity of the blurred background. Good shot!

Another very nice shot Gary. The combination of the old structure with dark shadows, and the bright colors of the flowers makes for a great contrast in time. Does that make sense? Anyway, it makes me want to keep looking at this image. Nice work.

    Hi Gary

This is for me a excellent shot .
You draw the viewer's eye to a point of interest with leading lines of the structure.
The choice of the yellow flowers is very nice and add a lot to your composition of the photo.

Great work with this one .

As everyone else has already said, another good picture. Something I noticed..........your elevation is perfect, as you're centered on the column height, therefore the flow for the remainder of the columns could not have been framed up any better.

Great stuff and there's something subtle here as well; I see the light increasing on the columns in unison with the decreasing condensation on the glass thus allowing more light on to the columns. I like the flowers and also it's nice to see the ones in the distance. Before Tuna says it I will add that this may be a great candidate for a B/W conversion.

Chunk. . .Great description, i like how you think Yes, seeing this through the view finder was indeed a pleasure. In fact so that I had taken more than a dozen shots of just these and some other columns as well. I just could not stop the temptation to continue to shoot these structures as the light falling through them and their muted textures and colors were very attractive.

Yoyo. . . thanks for your take on this. I see what your saying about the clearer glass exposing a more in focus bg, so to speak. I might try blurring that area of the bg abit.

Micheal . . . yes, that does make sense and a nice way to see it. I like the description, thanks.

James . . .I appreciate your thought on this. The yellow flowes are there, I guess placed there by the keepers of the Museum and really does contrast nicely with evrything and do well in the light.

Scott. . .good point brought up by you. After taking lots of shots of these columns, I realized that my getting right in the middle of ther height gave me the effective symetry that I found pleasing. Something I had not really thought about before going through several shots.

Tom . . .good observation about the lighting. As far as b&w goes, I think it would be effective, but I would'nt want to lose the warm tones of the old stone and the colors of the flowers.

Knight. . . .Thanks for looking and commenting. By the looks of your Avatar and name , you might feel right at home in this scene;)
