    Beach Huts - Canada Style!

    Ahhh...the beach.
Shot this yesterday, there was some sort of icy haze in the distance (pogonip?)

Cool Jon...........I wished you could find a beach umbrella & chair to stick up in the snow over to the left of the bldgs. HA That would add some color to it.

At first I thought their was to much empty space, but after looking at it a while I think not at all. Well done.

    Jon,

Great shot. Love the simplicity of it! Nice subtle black and whites too.

    Great shooting,

Jon, I like the concept of these type of shots, with lots of negative space showing these little subjects out against a vast empty space. This one for me is not strong, but not bad. I'm not sure exactly what it is, maybe that the foreground and background are almost the same color, maybe that there is no detail anywhere. i'm thinking that maybe this shot would have worked better if it were all the white snow foreground captured as negative space with the huts on top of the frame. i just feel like it is lacking the dynamic that these type shots offer.

You make some good points gahspidy. Probably won't win any contests. I like it for what it is. Gives me a feeling of serenity.
Anyway I now wish I had tried the shot you describe, though if memory serves lower down in the frame there may have been grassy stuff poking up. Would have been a different take on a scene that, admittedly, has been done before.
The fact that there is no detail anywhere is exactly what drew me to the scene. I'm somewhat amazed by the starkness. I've done shots like this before, but this is the starkest.
Odd that you'd find a scene like this at the beach!

I like it. Very minimalistic & beautiful. The light blues are very soft. The kinda shot I'd love to have as a desktop photo. You're right it is serene.

    Very nice.
