C'mon Man, Get into the Holiday Spirit !

I saw this fellow looking like he needed a kick in the ass. ( personally, these holidays can give me the blues, too.) What do you think?

I love this photo - makes me chuckle

I love the framing, colour, dof and the clouds

    Heh, looks rather desolate there.

I Like this picture. It's not your typical snowman shot which is what I like. The place looks tremendous and the clouds are look fantastically dramatic as if a storm were coming. I've looked at this image a few times today and am finding that the more I look at it the more I like it. It does appear that the snowman needs a good kick in the ass. Reminds me of some of my co-workers.

    Hi Gary,
I like the tone of this shot. The wetted floor extented from the snowman's head gives an indication of blood bleeding from his head. The tone alos gives a surreal feeling.

Dude! This is very funny! It doesn't look like he needs his ass kicked, it looks like he GOT his ass kicked! It's hilarious. I agree with a previous poster, the water lends the sense of blood and the overcast skies add to the "drama" of Frosty's Very Bad Day.

You did an excellent job of getting low to get the great angle. My only suggestion: more saturation?

    Great.

Re: C'mon Man, Get into the Holiday Spirit !

    Thanks Yoyo, and Walterick.
Yeah, I agree it looks more like he got an ass kickin rather than in need of one! The skies, tones, bg blur and some painted lighting in the foreground were ps ed to my taste for drama and some surrealism. Also desaturated the bg and a bit on Frosty.. Could use to saturate a little more perhaps, but I liked the dreary tone it added to " Frostys Bad Day " Yes, the wet area does look like it could be blood from his head, and I was thinking of tinting it red. . . .but. . . not sure about going that far. Thanks for the comments

Re: C'mon Man, Get into the Holiday Spirit !

Looks like something I'd see down here in Arizona. We had snow 10 days ago, and it lasted for 10 hours.

With it being a snowman, I like the fact it's just water, and not tinged red. To me, it adds more to the comedic value that way, instead of trying to make a "social statement".

Well you have the shot for next year's Christmas cards already.
I think you need to photoshop in a snowman shaped chalk line.

I really like this photo...but it looks like it was Photoshopped a bit and it takes away from it's edgy-ness.

    Really nice.

Yes, it is funny. But looking past that, you have managed to capture the shot with a very nice documentary feel. It appears that, as you continue to hone your skills, you are becoming incapable of simply taking a snapshot...

    Well done.

Re: C'mon Man, Get into the Holiday Spirit !

ArmySSG . . . .I agree with you on the point about tinting the water. i had thought about it while first working on the pic but thought that would take it further than i wanted it to go. . . .just wanted it to be funny in a light way.

Walterick . . . As much as I enjoy looking at your posted images, I value your points and comments. Thanks

Chunk . . . .You never fail to provide food for thought. I had not thought about it (as I'm not really a card sender) but I think that would make a great card and may have a go at it.

KimberlyJing. . . .Welcome. and thanks for the time to comment. Yeah, it does have a somewhat ps'ed feel to it. It's pretty much how I wanted it, for this image. I wanted a surreal, almost cartoonish feel to it. I appreciate your thoughts on it. btw, Good Luck!

Tuna . . .Thanks for those words. A tremendous compliment from a great photographer.
