    Buttons

XBOX 360 controller, should all the buttons be in focus? Or is it ok as it is?

    Re: Buttons

I think this would have worked better if you had a shallower angle and all the B button was in sharp focus

    Re: Buttons

lol! I find myself snapping away at mine all the time when they're in front of me and I'm bored. Never done mine upside down though. I would say you need them more in focus.

    Re: Buttons

@hminx - so lower down? And with B more in focus than the rest or just more focused in general?

@n8 - Lol, yeah my roommate was gone and it was just laying there so I thought I would take a picture of it. Upside down was more of a i-just-didnt-want-to-move-it thing than a composition thing. But I do like it this way cause I like how the colors are positioned.

    Re: Buttons

If I was shooting this I would try to get just the B or maybe Y button tack sharp ( or as sharp as that kit lens will get ) The other buttons oof will add to intrigue. The shallower angle will help with the DOF

Very nice idea. The colors are brilliant. Needs better focus though.

    Re: Buttons

@hminx - gotcha, I'll try and shoot it again like that.

@daq7 - Thanks for posting, and the compliment. Just from a curiosity stand point, which button do you think should be in the most focus?

    Re: Buttons

To be honest I do find the out of focus buttons very distracting. Think of out of focus as a tool to force attention to a particular area or subject. Here, not sure what the subject would be forced to, as they're all the same thing and there's no advantage to doing that. Also, I think a straight down from center of the buttons angle would work best. It would be symmetric like that, think it would add something to the shot.

@ GB1 - Tried one your way, lemme know what you think.

Yellow in the corner if where the paint is starting to get worn. And the blue is something I couldn't avoid, its grip tape that is on the trigger of the controller.

    Re: Buttons

I like the first picture more than the second. Try the same angel but get all the buttons in focus.

    Re: Buttons

Up'd the f/stop of this one as high as it could go so I could get the detail up. Also, added a touch more saturation. I like this version much better than the just straight down approach.

    Re: Buttons

It looks like you may be either getting closer than your lens is built for, or you need to use a tripod (if you're not).
I've got to say, the upside down is killing me.

    Re: Buttons

@n8 - hahahaha, I like it, puts a new spin on things. And plus, its an easier side to shoot from because the joy sticks aren't in the way.

I think I'm to close, because I'm using a tripod. Can't say I would have thought of getting to close, maybe I'll back up and try yet again. Lol, gotta like a subject you can go to repeatedly.
