    Another Flower

I think this is a squash blossum, but I'm the first to admit that when it comes to flowers I do really well to tell the difference between a rose and a haybale. This was taken in strong afternoon light in Old Town in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Comments are both welcome and appreciated.

Looks like a Hollyhock to me.

Hollyhocks seem to do well in a lot of climates. Many old farmsteads here in Wisconsin had them growing alongside a milkhouse or springhouse in the farmyard and their tall flowering stalks often catch my eye. You've caught a nice shot of them.

I love this pic. It has a Mexican feel to it (maybe the brown/stone bg) - I like how sharp the entire blossom is. And the colors are beautiful. Great job!

Thanks Chunk, and it may very well be a Hollyhock, as I say I'm sure not much of a flower expert other than to love taking their pictures (they don't move a lot or gripe!!)

    I appreciate your comments!

Thanks for your comments DarkStars -- it was taken in Old Town of Albuquerque, so there is definitely a Spanish/Native American Influence in the local architecture. I think I could spend a few years taking pictures there some day
