    Another dam picture...

I have another picture in my gallery that is similar to this, but I thought I'd see what you guys thought of this one (ignore the oversharpened look caused by shrinkage...).

I like the composition the vertical lines really guide focus into the dam.

    Re: Another dam picture...

I would crop off the bottom where the water starts to become bluish/silverish. It just distracts from the main focus here, and doesn't add much. That being said, a nice, unique subject and very strong compositon with rule of thirds, lines, and so on. The people on the right hand side kind of break the view, but it works to add that type of depth.

    Nice shot DBF,

As usual (?) I disagree, the reflection of the colour in the water balances the sky.
    Keep it.
Crop it to the same size as the sky patch possibly, if you want exact balance.

Not a bad shot. i also like the reflections in the water. The lighting and sky are not adding any dynamic to the scene, but it is still good.

    Hmm.. Though one.

I think that your composition is good but the picture doesn't grab my attention like I think it should. It seems that the colors fall flat despite the sun glow on the trees at the left.

That is a shot which I think deserve to be reshot. You have a good subject but the ligthing doesn't seems to be quite there.

    regards

A very nice shot with good leading lines as already mentioned. I like the depth developed by the overlaps and the strong close detail. Keep the reflections.
