It is getting even worse and scarier. Not only did Bush authorize illegal spying on Americans (and insists it will continue), now we have proof that Homeland Security (Ministry of Peace?) is monitoring the library activities of students.Originally Posted by adina

They never gave him the book he had ordered. In addition, classes being offered at UMass are now being reviewed to avoid "government trouble" for students.

Bush and his anti-American cronies are moving faster and faster towards a police state in the name of saving us from terrorism. The Bill of Rights is being trashed, the Constitution is joke to Bush. Torture is now a "necessary evil" for the USA. To achieve the ultimate control, they must first scare the people, control information, and stifle and guide education.
The terrorists have succeeded in severely wounding America beyond their wildest dreams. The administration that should be protecting us from enemies " both foreign and domestic" have become the domestic terrorists themselves. Worse yet, a good chunk of citizens are approving of all these actions. Dictatorships don't just happen, they are created by a weak and ignorant public.
Need I quote it once again? I guess so. From Benjamin Franklin:
"They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty nor security".
