    The Silhouette thread

Loupey is the master of silhouette shots but I was presented with an opportunity that made me want to make the attempt. Getting it sharp is a lot harder than I thought at first. But with a little effort I managed what I think is an acceptable shot.

Add your silhouette shots below if you wish and let's have some fun with them.

Yup it's a white pine... can't you see the snow covering it making it white? No idea on the actual species of pine.. I was referring to the snow in jest =)

I've always liked silhouettes but seldom shoot them. This is from a few years ago when I had my first digital camera. Steller's Jay.

Here's a newer version of an old one. 300mm with extension tubes (don't remember how many) and a pond, with an encroaching shadow of the far bank, as the backdrop.

Okay, my turn now...and for something different....a silhouette on a stone. The owner of the silhouette was a hooded crow with two hazelnuts in its beak

Looks like a blue card with a loon-shaped cutout... nice work!

P.S. I see it was taken with an FZ7.

Hey, you weren't suppose to tell. This was taken 1 1/2 years ago, before I got promoted to DSLR.

Admittedly, there was some Photoshopping involved.
