Beautiful shot Alex, the drop shadow effect is really cool as well. I was going to guess dove but no way could I guess the species of dove. Only seeing the silhouette makes one look for the details. A great excuse to stop and linger...

I just luv looking through this thread, silhouette photography is such a beautiful art form.

    Thanks Bob for the comments.

This one is not for "challenge", as the birds are too small for easy ID'ing.

He stayed in the Stratosphere on that same trip as well. At the time, my wife was working for Choice Hotels so we got a huge discount on rooms in any of the hotels they owned. The rooms weren't anything great, but we saved a ton of money on that trip.

First time seeing a flock of GBHs. I see them in singles, sometimes doubles, or in very loose groups. But not in a flock.

In my parts, they are always loners.

Not really nature and wildlife ... but it is a silhouette and there are birds in it...they're small but they're in there =)

Jaedon - nice shot. I used to travel through Toronto all the time for business (and pleasure). But it has now been several years since my last time there. When did they construct that windmill and on what piece of property?

This comes from and old game show called "Name That Tune" where the contestants have to challenge each other by saying they can name the tune with only a few notes.

Another challenge entry... I'll give the answer after a couple days and/or a few guesses.

Taken today in our neighborhood with my new Siggy lens. (Heavily PP'd, though).

    - Body colour is made up of mostly two main ones, and a light speckling of a third.

Fat chance! The auditory section of my brain must be faulty as I can't get the hang of IDing birds by sound (I never know what the words to a song are actually saying either). If there was a robin and a cardinal singing at the same time, I have a 50% chance of correctly IDing one of them

NIce Silhouette OC, I have no clue on the ID. There are so many birds with short stubby beaks and small stature.

Alex, So it's a Jay just not a Blue? Is it a Steller Jay?

The Wind Turbine is about 5 years old and they never use it. It is never operational when the power demands are highest.... only at night when it is useless lol.

They built it on the Exhibition grounds somewhere. It actually sits right above the QEW highway as you drive by the Exhibition Grounds.
