    Osprey

Went back to see if she laid eggs yet....probably still a week away. Female (Brown marks on the chest, male is pretty much solid white on the chest) hangs in the nest most of the time while Pops brings in sticks and even brings her a fish to the nest.
Love this jet pack I have!!! (Just kidding!).

Slight overcast ...my favorite lighting for Ospreys!!

Nice images Eric. In the first one, it looks like she is trying to figure out who or what you are and in the last two she seems to be looking right at you as if to say - "I see you and I know you're there" IQ is great as usual. Thanks for sharing.

It is interesting, to me at least, they are just starting to get to the point where they are nesting and laying eggs and the baldies you have been following are getting to the point where the young ones are going to fledge soon.

    Cheers,

    WesternGuy

What even more interesting is Eagles lay eggs here in 1st week of December, Ospreys now (first week in March) and the Snail Kites April and may. I like the way they are spread out, makes it easier to cover the 3 raptors nests!

Keeps things interesting and keeps you on the move, with great opportunites for photography. I will be interested to see the Snail Kites, don't think I have seen any images of those for a while. I, on the other hand, have just learned that the groundhogs were wrong, $%^&* rodents, we are going to get 6 more weeks of winter at least that's what our weather people are telling us...now if I could just work in a short trip to Orlando...but a our travel budget is being spent on Botswana this year...so we will learn to live with cold and snow - who knows, I may have to figure out how to take pics in this weather yet - so it's not all bad... .

    Cheers,

    WesternGuy
