    Foxy

I finally got lucky and got myself some decent fox images. It sure was on my wish list. After drivng around a wildlife refuge for 1 1/2 hours and seeing nothing but coot and a couple Blue Jays, this fella was a pleasant surprise.

Beautiful fox. Love that last shot.

Saw a dead one on the shoulder of the expressway today Guess he tried to run the six lane gauntlet and lost.

Fine captures! Isn't it nice to have something just pop out in front of you? Nice job.....

Nice find Mike! I love photographing fox. I'm hoping to find some in the snow this winter, if we ever get any snow. It's raining now. :s I have been meaning to email to see how you have been. Haven't seen you around here much lately.

    Re: Foxy

    Thanks for the comments, all.

Cara, where is the pic of your fox?

Mike, if you want snow, come on over. We got about 4 - 5 inches and the winds are gusting to over 40 mph. I've had enough of winter. As an FYI, the fox was shot in Wisconsin.

Eric, he didn't pop out in front. He was off to the side of the road. My first couple grab shots were a bit cluttered, but OK. However, while I was in the car chimping, he came back out into the open, so I got back out and knelt down and started firing, with him coming straight towards me the whole time. At one point, I actually had to pull back on my 100-400 to get him all in the frame. It was a real rush. I think he was just curious.

Here is another one where he is looking straight at me.
