b&w film got wrong on developing

    hello there!

this is my first post on this forum! wooho!
anyway, i'm kinda beginner in home developing, and until now I developed 120 T-max 100,
today I developed a film I got with my holga a friend bought me. it's Fuji neopan 400 and I used ilford chemistry like used on the T-max to process it, of course used the digitaltruth database. but as I took it out of the fixer I saw the film is gray (well most of the photos are overexposed but well, it's holga) and it's actually a layer still covering the film.... maybe it wasn't enough time in the developer? is anybody here can understand what i'm talking about?....

    thanks for any help!

You probably need to fix it more. Is it milky looking?

it was more like grey layer all over it, and in the first minutes, i could scratch it with my nails and get it off, It was fixed for 10 minutes though. now it got dry and the grey layer is not coming down from scratching.

If it is the first time you have used the camera there could be an issue there. Maybe no pictures to develop or the film somehow was exposed to light.

well, it's an holga... so it's definitely an options, now i remember I flew with the holga and that film was loaded in it, maybe the airport scanning did something to it?

That could have done it if it was scanned. Try another roll. Shoot some cheap color film and get it processed at a lab. I think you have to tape up some Holgas?

If it went through an airport scanner that's very likely the culprit. I would consider shooting two rolls of the same film stock. Send one out as a control to eliminate the camera. Run the other through your darkroom following the exact process as previous and compare. If they both come out you can assume it was the scanner.
    It's not about the camera....

If it's a b&w film then in my experience they cannot go wrong color wise but only problem is whether you leave it in the chemical too long or not each roll of film comes with an instruction of how long they need to be in the chemical
