    Looking for some help- FAST!

Im new to the forums and was not sure if this was the proper forum to post this thread.

I am 16 and making my 3rd movie and was thinking of getting an XL1.

At the same time I want to make this movie look like you are right there and in the action. Do you guys know what settings to put the camera at and what lenses to use, ect.

I and my friends are getting people from our local collage to act in it as well. We are looking for the same look that was used in Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers. I dont want to spend alot though. Thx

this sort of pov shot is normally done with either train tracks or a steadycam. either way, the idea is to make everything look like the camera is connected to the characters eyes. in that way things like adding a shodow (of the character) in afterwards, or filming their arms etc and compositing it add to the effect but can look cheesy. basically though our eyes can't zoom and they don't have perfect depth of field (bat faster than normal shifting of focus) os a mid shot works best at about f8 a helmet cam is ok, but you need to train a person to move in a very specific way for that to look natural.
