Tele converter wanted

Hello I have a Nikon d70 and the 80-400 AF-D 4.5-5.6 VR Nikkor lense. Is there a telconverter 1.4 or ? that will suite my situation and if there is any limitations. I read some place that Kenko 1.4x Teleplus Pro 300 will work without auto focus but has some other short commings? Another question being will the VR work?
If I could only borrow one ;) thanks for your comments.
