Sony Dsc F-828

I’am an amateur photographer.
Also an ex-pilot retired from Turkish Airlines.
My first digital camera was a Sony DSC S-75 with lots of accessories.
After months of research , thanks to your web site, I’ve upgraded camera with DSC F-828.

Since I’m not flying after retirement, I asked a captain friend of mine to purchase the DSC F-828 from abroad . Finally , last month , he bought it from Hong Kong for 800 $. A reasonable price.

I have one question.

In terms of quality and reliability, would it be better if he had purchased it from Japan ?
In other words, does it matter if you buy a Sony product from Japan or from another country.

Why this question ?

Speaking about German products, as far as I know, for example , Siemens or Bosch products, are classified after quailty control and the “top quality products” are distributed for consumers in Germany, while others are exported.

Can this be true for Japan products?
Finally, are all Sony DSC F-828 cameras are of the same qualtiy and performance ?
I would appreciate it very much if someone kindly informs me about the issue .

I doubt that would be the case. As long as you have a warranty you should be fine. From what I have read that is a pretty good camera. Have you gotten any good shot? Please post some in our gallery if so!
