    FujiFilms FinePix S3100 lens question!

    I have a FujiFilms FinePix S3100 and I have a lens question.

I have a few 37mm screw based lenses I would like to use on this camera. It comes with a 55mm step up ring already, but I can't find what size the out rinng around the zoom lens is. Like the width of the screw part of the step up lens is.

How can I make my 37mm screw lenses work on this?

    Thanks,
    Tim

Re: FujiFilms FinePix S3100 lens question!

Tim, I'm not sure how this would work. I have a Fuji Finpix S3800, which is physically very close to the 3100, I have a UV filter, screwed into the lense shade at 55mm thread, which puts it infront of all the lense parts. But as this camera does not have a removable lense, I don't see how a screw threaded lense of any type might be beneficial??

    lenses or filters?

Welcome to the forum Tim. What do you mean by screw base lenses? Are they actually lenses, or are they screw on filters? Are they made for Fuji camears? Sorry to be asking so many questions but it would help us to figure what you need to make this work, if it's possible.

I checked out the Fuji website, and the only lenses they have listed for this camera are the TL-FX9B, and the WL-FX9B. You can check them out here.

The screw mount on the S3100 lens is 55mm. If you were to step down to 37mm for the lens/filters that you have, I would think that you would have some serious vignetting issues.

I'm sorry to say, but I don't think it's going to work, but I have been proven wrong more than once.

If you could post some pics of the 37mm lenses that you're talking about, that would give us a better idea of what you're working with.
