    Re: 2005 PMA Tradeshow Coverage!

    Nikon Coolwalker

Here it is, Brian and Paul. They told me it just started shipping - like last week. So you should be able to get it soon. It seems kinda chunky to me. And I don't know about all the features, besides the 30 gig hard drive. But it's in the Portable Digital Storage reviews, so you can check there for specs.

That's a D2Hs right behind it. Tasty, huh?

    For El Salty Ray Man

Ray, I ha dan appointment with Nikon today and made sure to get photos of the latest Coolpix cameras that have hot shoes. If I remember right, they were both released at Photokina, last year. And the 8800 already has 4 reviews:

    Nikon Coolpix 8800
    Nikon Coolpix 8400

They're both cool 8 megapixel cameras, although I am more interested in the 8400, since it has a real wide angle lens. The main benefit of the 8800 is it has a VR lens.

    Kodak 1400 Printer

    Seb-
Thanks for bringing the Kodak 1400 printer to my attention. It's definitely a nice printer. It uses the same technology as the other Kodak Professional dye sub printers, but it only costs $400 (don't quote me on that - might be $499) and it prints slower. But the sample prints I saw looked great and it's a good looking printer. They said that event photographers were already planning to use it on location.

John, just a question about the sample shots from the Sigma 10-20 that you posted in the gallery: Was the front edge of the counter that the lenses were sitting on in the first shot curved, or was this due to the angle of the lens (and/or distortion)?

    Brian-
I think I've got everything new from Nikon, including the F6. I'll start really getting everything online today. I've got tons of photos and I've been working on an editorial/show report.

It's the Digital Rebel XT, 8 MP, smaller and lighter than the 20D, faster continuous shots. It's all up on Canon's website.

Re: For El Salty Ray Man

    Thanks John,
My G2 is still kicking and still takes great pics. But I'm sure it's days are numbered. Since I've got all the flash for the Nikon system I might have to switch. The 8800 with VR looks tasty!
