VANCOUVER, WA., Feb. 15, 2005 -- Wacom Technology Corporation today announced its eagerly anticipated Cintiq 21UX interactive pen display that allows users to work with a pen directly on a 21.3" color-accurate LCD. The Cintiq 21UX offers "more" of everything that makes using a Wacom Cintiq such a natural way to work: more screen area, more pressure sensitivity, more pen control, more resolution, more comfort, more productivity. At a suggested retail price of $2499 the Cintiq 21UX delivers more of everything with no price increase over the previous generation. The Cintiq 21UX will begin shipping in March, but customers can register at www.cintiq.com now to be at the head of the line for units.
Leading photographers, designers, and artists have enthusiastically transitioned to working on Cintiq interactive pen displays for some of the following reasons:
"Using a Cintiq has dramatically increased the speed at which I can retouch images and for me that translates into money. With more screen area, higher resolution, more pressure sensitivity, and reliable color accuracy the new Cintiq 21UX is going to make an even bigger contribution to my overall productivity."
- Vincent Versace, award-winning Hollywood photographer
"As an industrial designer I rely on my Cintiq for exceptional control and comfort. The new seamless surface of the Cintiq 21UX is an important advance that will give me a barrier-free digital work area with no bezel edge to bump into. This innovation also gives the Cintiq a streamlined, modern look that appeals to the artist in me."
- Steven Linder, Senior Industrial Designer, Anthro Corporation
"My Cintiq is an essential ingredient in my recipe for creating compelling 3D art. Working in applications like Photoshop, Maya, and BodyPaint with the Cintiq 21UX's ExpressKeys and Touch Strips will be amazingly efficient. I know from experimenting with these tools on Wacom's Intuos3 tablets what a difference this will make. It's going to be awesome!"
- Dan Casey, Director of Digital Productions, Vinton Studios
