I called there initially about a tele-converter for my camera. The guy I spoke to, Steve K. (SteveK@WiseTronics.com), and this Steve guy said they had one that 'everyone was raving about' that worked with my new 18-200mm Nikkor VR lens. It was a Digital Concepts brand, one they don't even have posted on their website. Well, of course he wanted to sell me and 'give' some other things also. So, he threw in a camera battery and lens cleaning kit if I also bought their 3 piece filter kit for $299. I did need the filters so I went for it, as long as he also threw in two free lens caps that I needed.

When I received the package the small print on the sales sheet enclosed said that if I wanted to return anything I must return it all, as it was sold to me as a 'package deal'.

The totals on the same sheet for each product shipped was $0.00, but the package total came to $799.00 with shipping and handling. Had I known the terms and conditions up front, I definately would have shopped elsewhere.

Of course, I did not get this agreement until I received the package. The only acknowledgement that the order was placed was after it shipped, and only contained the tracking number.

The tele-converter was a very cheap piece of product from Digital Concepts which I could have bought at Amazon for $69. Had I known he would send me a Digital Concepts brand for $399 I wouldn't have placed the order. The filter were manufactured by Japan Optics, whoever they are. I haven't tried the filters yet to determine their effectiveness or quality, but I'm sure I paid too much.

So, once I discovered that the tele-converter didn't work with the camera (Nikon D80) I called to get an RMA for the package. They had me on hold and online for over an hour. It was VERY FRUSTRATING, as Steve K., whomever he is, would not give me an RMA unless they could replace the tele-converter for something else. Since I could see this would go nowhere until I conceded, I selected a SB-800 Nikon speedlight flash module. Of course he wanted to substitute some other inferior product, but I insisted on Nikon branded product only, but only if I could get something else as well thrown in, so I settled on a 4gb memory card. I told Steve K. the brands that were approved by Nikon, but he insisted that the one he would send me would be superior and work ok, so I conceded again.

I received the speedlight, and it is ok. However, the 4gb memory card was a Silicon Power brand memory card, and would not work with my camera. So I had to call and get another RMA. Of course they insisted on having tracking numbers on both returns, so the shipping costs went up. I told the guy at WiseTronics that ONLY Panasonic and SanDisk are the only approved 4gb cards for my camera, and insisted that they send me only an approved product. In the return package I also included copies from the Nikon manual of my error code and the the approved cards. However, they ignored my request and also the pages from the manual and sent me a Dane Elec brand card instead.

I am really PI _ _ ED off over this, and the way this company operates. They should be put out of business. I hope we can all band together to assure their deletion in the marketplace.

If they tell you something is free, or you think something is free, you just haven't gotten the bill yet.
