    Angry Wisetronics Bait And Switch

I placed an order and was asked to buy accessories and I declined, and told them I just wanted the item I was ordering. After 3 days of waiting for my order to be shipped, I called and was told they were out of stock. I had a friend call back and they said they had plenty in stock, which he had them confirm and indeed they were. I called back and told them to cancel my order and I would not do business with a bait and switch company. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY:mad5:

    Re: Wisetronics Bait And Switch

I called WiseTronics.com to verify that they had this camera in stock before I placed the order. Twice they assured me they had this camera for this price in stock and told me to go ahead and place the order online. I did exactly that as you can see in the above order confirmation.

When I called them back to verify the order and listen to the additional sales pitch, they said "oh Sir, the camera you ordered is the overseas version and does not have the USA warranty, software, or USB cable that the American version has and would be shipped bare.
I protested a little and was very frustrated by their Bait and switch tactic, but told them to ship it anyway. They said hold on and I will transfer you to my manager. I held on for approximately 12 minutes and the manager picks up and tells me that the camera I ordered was not in stock and it would be 3-4 weeks before it would ship. I pleaded with him to not screw me around for several minutes. He told me not to beg and that’s the way it was going to be. Again I asked him to please honor his online advertized deal. He said hold on a few seconds and came back to the phone and said "your order has been cancelled" At that point I lost my cool and hung up.

Wisetronics is one you want to erase from your list.....permanently.
If the "testimonials" are legit........they must be relatives of the two guys with the 6 different names.
Anyone ever find out an actual address on this company please let me know.

    Wisetronics Bait And Switch

THE WORST! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS VENDOR. I am a frequent internet buyer and I have never run across a scam like Wisetronics. They did a massive bait-and-switch, made it extremely difficult to obtain the Sony HD Camcorder I ordered, and would only shop it after adding additional items that doubled the price of the camcorder. The accessories they insist on including with the camera were charged at prices that were 5 times more than their legitimate prices, adding nearly $500 to the order for junk. Then they refused to clarify or provide me with a receipt, saying it was with the order, but in the order they removed the original camcorder with the original sales price and put them together as a package" with a single package price so hide the individual markups. I could not cancel the order and when it did arrive it did not even have the items that were in the "package" - most importantly an extended life lithium battery that was charged at $200 - meaning they charged for items they didn't even ship. Then comes trying to get an item returned, as Customer Service does not answer - at this point after 5 days, they have not answered or returned a single inquiry though I made many by email and by phone - in effect just ignoring all efforts to receive a refund. This is simply THE WORST scam joint I have ever run across on the Internet. Now I must report them for fraud and overcharges.

Re: All Above Info Applies To Me. Not Honest About Whether Item Is Refurbished Or New Or If In Stock Or On Backorder. Wonder If It's Because I Didn't Get Any Upgrades Or Accessories Either?

DON'T BUY FROM THESE GUYS! I ordered a Canon SD1000 for a great price, about $190. They sent me an email to contact them regarding my credit card and shipping location. They then told me that the camera I ordered did not come with a battery or charger and that to get that I would have to pay $280 for the camera, battery and charger! That's only $10 less than list price and $30 more than Staples.

SCAM! I got tricked by the generous offer they have on their site. Well, if you see some "deals" here you should know they're all bull s**t. The real price gets high in the end thanks to a insidious scamming management. "Do you want this 100$ camera? Well, you could have it for 300 if you want batteries, cables, software and the shutter button". lol

Thumbs down Re: Wisetronics Bait And Switch

I also have been taken in by the scheisters at (NOT SO) WiseTronics.com.

I am happy to give you their address so you can make your complaints known:

    WiseTronics
    2845 86th St.
    Brooklyn, NY 11223-4634

    or

    Shlomi Albagdadi
    2845 86th St.
    Brooklyn, NY 11223-4634

I called there initially about a tele-converter for my camera. The guy I spoke to, Steve K. (SteveK@WiseTronics.com), and this Steve guy said they had one that 'everyone was raving about' that worked with my new 18-200mm Nikkor VR lens. It was a Digital Concepts brand, one they don't even have posted on their website. Well, of course he wanted to sell me and 'give' some other things also. So, he threw in a camera battery and lens cleaning kit if I also bought their 3 piece filter kit for $299. I did need the filters so I went for it, as long as he also threw in two free lens caps that I needed.

When I received the package the small print on the sales sheet enclosed said that if I wanted to return anything I must return it all, as it was sold to me as a 'package deal'.

    I Quote:
    Term & Conditions
*By placing the above order & accepting this shipment, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to WiseTronics Terms of Service
Satisfaction Guarantee: You have 21 days (On Digital products - it is 7 days. No returns on Plasm/LCD Tv's), from date of your package receipt, to return or exchange the above products in whole as a package not individually, since your order was processed as a package. 15%-20% restockin fee will be applied to your returned package and S&H are not refundable.
Returns after the above allowance period or without RMA#, will not be accepted.
    Unquote

The totals on the same sheet for each product shipped was $0.00, but the package total came to $799.00 with shipping and handling. Had I known the terms and conditions up front, I definately would have shopped elsewhere.

Of course, I did not get this agreement until I received the package. The only acknowledgement that the order was placed was after it shipped, and only contained the tracking number.

The tele-converter was a very cheap piece of product from Digital Concepts which I could have bought at Amazon for $69. Had I known he would send me a Digital Concepts brand for $399 I wouldn't have placed the order. The filter were manufactured by Japan Optics, whoever they are. I haven't tried the filters yet to determine their effectiveness or quality, but I'm sure I paid too much.

So, once I discovered that the tele-converter didn't work with the camera (Nikon D80) I called to get an RMA for the package. They had me on hold and online for over an hour. It was VERY FRUSTRATING, as Steve K., whomever he is, would not give me an RMA unless they could replace the tele-converter for something else. Since I could see this would go nowhere until I conceded, I selected a SB-800 Nikon speedlight flash module. Of course he wanted to substitute some other inferior product, but I insisted on Nikon branded product only, but only if I could get something else as well thrown in, so I settled on a 4gb memory card. I told Steve K. the brands that were approved by Nikon, but he insisted that the one he would send me would be superior and work ok, so I conceded again.

I received the speedlight, and it is ok. However, the 4gb memory card was a Silicon Power brand memory card, and would not work with my camera. So I had to call and get another RMA. Of course they insisted on having tracking numbers on both returns, so the shipping costs went up. I told the guy at WiseTronics that ONLY Panasonic and SanDisk are the only approved 4gb cards for my camera, and insisted that they send me only an approved product. In the return package I also included copies from the Nikon manual of my error code and the the approved cards. However, they ignored my request and also the pages from the manual and sent me a Dane Elec brand card instead.

I am really PI _ _ ED off over this, and the way this company operates. They should be put out of business. I hope we can all band together to assure their deletion in the marketplace.

If they tell you something is free, or you think something is free, you just haven't gotten the bill yet.

    Re: Wisetronics Bait And Switch

    These guys are terrible!
I thought I had found the deal of a lifetime on a Canon S3 1S, made the order and sat back and waited for my order to arrive. I gave it a couple of days and checked the status online and noticed that the order that ships within 2 days was still processing. So I called, after saying no to some ridiculously priced add-ons, I was told they didn't offer express shipping on this item, switched to regular shipping and was then told that would be 2 weeks. Wasn't in a hurry for the camera so I figured that would be ok. 2 weeks went by, called and checked and found that it was backordered, another 2 weeks. Checked to see if they had anything comparable in-stock for the same price and was told, within 2 seconds, they had NO cameras at that price. Just got an email from "Customer Service": My item is going to take 5-6 weeks.
