Yellowstone with Canon EOS-1D Mark III!

Got an offer to do a Canon workshop in Yellowstone with the 1D Mark III this weekend. The camera showed up a couple of days ago and studio sample photos are already posted. I'm very excited about this. Yellowstone with the Mark III should be great. And of course, I'll do a full pro review after I get back and do some action photo testing.

I posted a little article about the trip on our new articles section (yeah - the new articles section).

High ISO performance with this camera is crazy!

John, hope your Mark III isn't plagued with the AI servo issues as experienced by many users, or the general focus inconsistencies of my defective copy

I am not expecting to have any problems with they type of photography I'll be doing at Yellowstone. But we'll see. I'm leaving the firmware as-is partly because I want to see how it performs. And partly because I just don't have time to deal with it right now.

Sorry to hear you've been having problems with your camera.

Re: Yellowstone with Canon EOS-1D Mark III!

I was just in Yellowstone a couple days ago. I knew about the Canon workshops in the park before going there, but nobody at the visitor center I stopped at seemed to know anything about it... I did see a couple of cars with the Canon logo plastered all over them in Yellowstone and the Tetons but that was about it. I would have loved to have been able to attend one of the workshops, but it just didn't happen. I should have done more research before going...
