Digital enlarger? A current digital user can put the file into PhotoShop and print it directly with greater accuracy, no toxic fumes, cheaper cost, and better speed than using an enlarger and chemical paper. What am I missing?

I have never been happy with the quality of Inkjet prefering all my picture printed in a lab who use a Lightjet, witch is a digital enlarger of sorts.

I said no. Sure the prints might look better to some, but the time and $ saved by having them done at a lab is a plus in my book. My girlfriend bought me a nice photo printer (inkjet) for my b-day. I told her to send it back. There is no way I could make my own prints, and get the same consistent results, and choice of sizes, finishes etc... as a lab could offer, and save money by printing at home. Total control from capture to final print would be nice, but just not worth the extra investment in time and materails for me to justify it.

The price you can have your images printed in a lab is so cheap I wouldn't see the need. If you are looking for instant gratification I would take a dye-sub printer over an inkjet as well.

Unless you are a romantic and love spending hours by yourself in a little black room I couldn't see the need.

Are you referring to a 'home' version of a commercial machine like a Noritsu?

They are an entire front to back processing system, not just an enlarger.
