    Photography Book Recomendations?

Iam not sure if this would be the right forum to post this question, so my apologies if it isn't.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good photography book which shows basic techniques and explains the finer points of photography for a beginner?

    Thanks
    Greg

    National Geographic Photography Field Guide

The "National Geographic Photography Field Guide" is a very good overview of photographic techniques. It has clear explanations and some nice photographic examples throughout. There are also several profiles of National Geographic photographers that are interesting and reinforces that there are many approachs and processes to making strong, compelling photographs.

    Hope it helps!

"John Shaw's Nature Photography Field Guide" is by far the best photography book I've read on photography. He explains exposure, working in stops, and compensation techniques in the simplest, most understandable, and best written manner of anything I've read.

The "National Geographic Photography Field Guide" would be my second choice.
