Thanks everyone. I'm just kinda happy to find out that real regular people actually win these promotional things now and then (rather than the nephew of the CFO). Oddly the two closest "local dealers" are some 50 miles North and located a block apart so I think I may run up there this weekend and look around - Sadly, B&H doesn't qualify as a local dealer. If prices aren't $100 more than the online dealers, I may break down and finally try the 10-24 as my 28-70 is the widest lens I currently own, and it can be limiting in tight spaces.
