    Winter landscapes

I love winter. Yes, I'm a skier but I like it for more than just skiing. The quiet of the snow covered landscape, broken only by the crunch of snow underfoot has a certain peace to it I don't notice any other time of year. It also seems to drive a lot of other people inside which always adds to that peaceful solitude. Everything blanketed in snow is a magical transformation of the landscape and I can never resist shooting some photos. I think it's my favorite season.

Here's an older one from January 2011 that I wanted to try a B&W conversion with recently. It was a cold foggy morning and the moisture coated everything in hoar frost. I love it when that happens!

Here's one from this morning. It was -14 F when I took this which was feeling kind of mild compared to the temps earlier this week!

Second is sexier, but the first is graphically appealing as well.
