    Who lives in Austin, TX?

    Hey there...

Well, as a life long Californian, I am about to give up. We paid $375k for a shoebox in Mountain View, and I cannto believe that we did.

Having paid down all of my debt, except for my two cars in anticipation of being a Pro Photographer I am thinking of buying a home in Austin, TX instead. Keep my job until I can find another one in Austin, but I want a home.

In Austin the homes are big enough to raise a family, but I don't know the city that great. I've been there and loved it, but for those that live there...why do you live there and what is your favorite and worse things about the city?

Besides the fireants...what should I look out for?

    Bats.

Austin is one of my favorite places although I've only visited there. Sebastian was there recently too. I suppose it's a little early to plan an Austin Gathering... ;)

Heat. I have a friend who lives there and he says he basically put his bike away for the summer. Too hot to ride.

My Aunt is in San Antonio. That's pretty darn close...

    Howdy!

I live about 70 miles away, and I am a native!

Austin is a very pretty town, HOWEVER, it is famous for its traffic problems! Be prepared to wait, wait, wait. Traffic really is a major problem for Austin, and they are working on several plans, but that'll take another 10 years to complete. So be prepared to wait.....

Also, 6th Street is famous as the party street.

I prefer Austin over San Antonio, but Austin does have some interesting characters living there!

The UT Tower glows burnt orange whenever UT wins a game, and that's pretty cool.

Sunsets over the lakes can be really pretty.

    Good luck!

    Kathy

    Thanks Kathy...Everybody.

Thanks for the information on the traffic. I'm still very interested, but will take a trip out there to see if I can survive it.

Maybe I could be your assistant on the wedding gig!!!

Ah, I know the REAL reason you're considering Austin...

    One word: LANCE...

Once he retires, I'm sure he'll be spending more time there. Probably going on club rides with the locals, too...

    Hmmm...riding with Lance.

Hey, Loren, can you check on trailer park prices for me? It just may be time for me to become an honorary Texan, too...
