These are used in my Canon S1IS
Notes: Have used all for over a year and no problems to date, I hope that I just didn't jinx myself.
Well I have since added the following..
(1) Scan Disk Ultra II 1.0 GB
(2) Scan Disk Extreme III 4.0 GB
also added a Canon XTi
I am thinking about getting (3) ScanDisk Extreme III 8.0 GB, with the rebate it's a killer deal. That would bring my total to 36 GB between the two cameras.

I’m a total newbie and when I picked up my camera this week I got a 4.0 GB Scan Disk Extreme III.

OMG I wish I hadn't read this. I paid $200 (after rebate even) for each of the two 16 GB Extreme III CF cards I bought 6 months ago. I had to buy them for a trip. But a formatting issue rendered them useable at only half capacity anyway so I really could have just taken my existing 8 GB cards - long story :(
My current inventory:
(2) 16 GB Sandisk Extreme III CF
(3) 8 GB Sandisk Ultra II CF

And some other SD cards just kinda floating around.

Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
I see I had answered this one a while back (March 8, 2007). Since then, I've updated my equipment.
A Lexar 4 Gig, 300X, UDMA compact flash rides in my D300.
I have another one as a backup, along with a SanDisk Extreme IV, 4 gig (266X), and a SanDisk Extreme III 4 gig, (133X).
My bag also holds a Lexar 2 gig, 133X, and a SanDisk Extreme III, 2 gig (133X), and a Lexar 1 gig, 80X.
I figure 7 CF cards and 21 gigs of memory should get me through any shooting situation I encounter, and I'm covered if a card goes bad on me.
I have the recovery software on my computer, and have not had to use it. I hope I never do.
I like the faster writing cards for shooting action events like sports, dance, etc. The faster downloads onto the computer is also nice.
Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
Well, since we're updating....
SanDisk Extreme III (latest) 16GB
SanDisk Extreme IV 8GB
SanDisk Extreme III (latest) 8GB
2 Lexar 300x UDMA 8GB
Lexar 266x 8GB
Lexar 300x UDMA 4GB
SanDisk Extreme IV 4GB.
64 gigs total. Useful for when I have to shoot RAW+JPEG for football with two cameras.
Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
I have since acquired a Lexar 2GB 133X Professional CF memory card, and a SanDisk 256MB Standard CF memory card. Used with my PENTAX *ist D, I hardly use my Panny anymore. :)
Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
I recently picked up a Kingston 266X 2 gb card, and I have to say that either that older Transcend 133X is really fantastic or the Kingston really sux because there is virtually *zero* difference in performance between the two - read or write!
Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
Lexar 1G 40x WA - 1
Lexar 2G 80x WA - 2
SanDisk Ultra II 2G - over 10
SanDisk Ultra II 4G - 2
SanDisk Extreme III 4G - 1
I started buying from costco, and they sold SanDisk at a good price, so that's what I use :)
Then they started selling 4G for the price of 2G.
SanDisk 4GB cards - love the price, HATE the new cases.
I won't buy any more SanDisk cards at costco until I have a source of old cases.
Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
Many people seem to have mainly 1 or 2 gb cards or even smaller which I find a bit strange. I use an 8gb sandisk extreme III and have a 4gb sandisk ultra II as a back up. I understand the idea of not putting all your eggs in one basket but I also don't want to have to open up the camera to change cards when I'm up to my waist in a swamp. I tend to clean the card after every trip anyway so at the worst I am going to lose the shots from just the one day if anything should go wrong with the card and balancing this against damaging the camera should anything get into the card slot I prefer to go with larger capacity cards myself.
I also have a 32mg that came with the camera which I keep for novelty value.
Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
D700 -- SanDisk Extreme III 8 GB
Backup -- Kingston Elite Pro 16 GB
D80 -- Lexar Pro 4 GB
Backup -- SanDisk Ultra II 2 GB
Funny how two years in technology change shows up in our memory card choices. :p

Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
For me? Just one humble 4gb Transcend UDMA 300x card in my A700. Amazing what a difference it makes in read/write times...
I am wanting another one, and maybe a backup MS Duo catridge in the 2nd card slot. At least it would keep the dust out :).

Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
Sandisk Ultra II 4gb
In my bag: 1 Sandisk Ultra II 4 gb, 3 Sandisk Ultra 1 gb & 7 Lexar Professional 40x 1gb cards
Got most of them when shooting airshows with my Canon 1D. Never had a problem with any of them (knock on wood).
Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
I only have one card. (very new to this)
It's a Sandisk Extreme III 4gb 30mb/s
