2 SanDisk Extreme III 2gb Cards
1 SanDisk Ultra II 2gb Card
    1 Transcend 4gb Card 120x

Soon to get 2-3 more Transcend cards. They are dirt cheap and hold up extremely well!

Cards used in Canon 30D and Canon 1D MKI (Soon to be a 1D MKII or MKIIN).

    Sandisk Ultra II 4GB (Fake)
    Sandisk Ultra II 2GB

I was using the 2GB and found that it wasn’t large enough to hold many raw file (CR2) form my Canon 5D on an shooting outing. I then went for a 4GB card, the first one I bought was a fake Sandisk Ultra II. This card ran at half the speed of the genuine and developed a fault that cost me a days shooting. The fault was such the it would destroy earlier files on the card and I didn’t learn about it until down load time. If you go and do a search on Google you can tell the fake from the original. They can be quite difficult to identify.

    1- 2GB Sandisk UltraII

14GB total. Microdrives are old, but have been 100% reliable albeit sloooooowww... The lexars rock and I use them 95% of the time.

    A BUMP and an Update
I had a strange mishap with my SanDisk Ultra II 1GB CF Card. I've mentioned it in other post. I used my old Canon G2 with the 1GB card and took shots only to get a card error after a few frames. After trying to troubleshoot the problem and reformating a bunch of times the card has totally failed. The card no longer works in any device. I'll try to use their limited lifetime warranty and save $20 since that's all the card is worth now. I don't think I should blame the card but more trying to use a 1GB card in an old digital camera.

I bought new cards so I'm now at:
    (1) Sandisk Ultra II 1GB
    (2) Sandsik Ultra II 2GB NEW FROM COSTCO ~ under $40 each!!!
    (1) 128mb CF
    (1) 16mb Canon CF

Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
Talk about strange. I had a 1GB San disk card fail one night a year and a half ago. I marked it so I wouldn't use it but was in a hurry and stuck it in the MKII N a week or so ago. The same body it failed in, and reformatted it and proceeded to shoot away. I filled the card, When I got home stuck it in the computer dumped it, all the shots were fine, yet when the thing failed it would only allow 45 shots. It had over 235 on itand has worked fine since. The strange thing is I formatted it way back when it first had issues. In fact I reformatted it several times....Oh well, it works now.
So now I can say I still haven't had a card fail....even the one that was run over by a race car 4 years ago still works, and it's been used in three different bodies. :D

    Thanks,

I kept meaning to check what I have:

    3 x Sandisk1Gb Extreme III
    1 x Sandisk 1Gb Ultra II
The following came free with the Canon Pro 1
    1 x Sandisk 256Mb Ultra II
    1 x Canon FC-64MH 64Mb

The cards are interchangable between the 5D and the Pro1 and they even keep the sequence on the card if partly used.

Plan on getting another 2Gb of Extreme ready for the summer 2 week hols.

    SanDisk extreme III 4G (1DSmkII)
    Lexar Pro 80x 2G (1DmkIIN)
    Lexar Pro 40x 1G (20D)

SanDisk ultra II 1G left pocket
SanDisk uktra II 2G left pocket
    Lexar 80x 2G left pocket

When used they go into my right pocket, either in the XSDrive II
Or upside down in a CF card case.
Once copied to the 8u0G hard disk, they go back in a case right way up.
When I run out of cards in the left hand pocket, I recycle cards from the right.

Starting to dislike it. Discovered I had my first corrupt set today. Lost photos from the weekend

    Notes:
1GB gets me about 100 RAW shots on my 8MP DSLR. I'm starting to require more. Costco always has a good deal on SanDisk but I'll be looking for SanDisk Extreme next time to get the free recovery software.

    WHAT'S IN YOUR DIGITAL CAMERA???

Since I've recently been "digging up" older threads, might as well "dig up" some more... :D

    **********Current stats**********

    Camera used: Panasonic DMC-FZ7K.

Main card: Panasonic 1GB High-Speed SD card.
Notes: Have used it with no problems for over two years – and have shot about 25,000 pictures and at least 100 videos on it. Super fast too.

Main back-up: Lexar 2GB SD card.
Notes: Just in case my main card fails – I do not want to be caught without any memory. Reasonably fast and great storage capacity.

    Other cards (rarely shoot with):

Other card #1: Panasonic 16MB SD card.
Notes: Came bundled with the camera. Only 6 high-quality JPGS fit!!! 0 TIFFS fit!!! This one usually sits in my drawer 24h.

Other card #2: Lexar 128MB SD card.
Notes: Mostly for backing-up stuff. Too small to be of much use in the field.

Interesting reading thru this for the first time today; I'd guess that at least some have drastically upgraded their memory cards from a year and a half ago...

I've got a SanDisk Extreme III 8gb in my D200
In my card holder I have:
    1 - SanDisk Ultra II 4 gb
    1 - Kingston Ultimate 4gb
    2 - SanDisk Ultra II 2gb
And my wife carries a SanDisk Ultra II 2 gb and a Lexar 1 GB, "just in case..."

Since I last posted in this thread I've added a D200 and a D700 to the Nikon stable. I have 2 Sandisk 4GB Ultra III for the D200 and a 8GB Lexar Pro I am using in the D700. Oh yes the D70 is gone to a good home with another PR member and is still going strong.

My main cards have been upgraded to 2 Sandisk 4GB Extreme III CF cards for my 40D. I still have all of the cards from my original post, as well as a couple of A-Data cards. The A-Data cards are a last resort for me. I just don't trust them, but if I'm low on space, I will use them.

I only see 1 other user that had the Transcend 133X 2gig card, but this is my main CF card and I've had no issues with it at all, fast and reliable, also have a Sandisk ultra III 2gig card as a backup and a Sandisk 4gig card that I picked up for a great price at Costco and then discovered is too big for the camera :(

I received my rebate a couple of days ago from Sandisk so you can be a little more assured. I went all out and got the 3 x 16Gb Extreme III cards for $63, shipped. – TF

    Hadn't caught this thread before...

    Camera used: Sony a700

Main cards (both currently in camera): 8gb RiDATA 233x. CF & 8gb Sony MS PRO Duo Mark2
Notes: These are for general shooting, but will swap CF card to the 4gb Adata 266x card. (30mb/s read, 23mb/s write on my Lexar USB reader)

    Main back-up: 8gb RiDATA 233x CF

    Other cards in my bag:
    - 4gb Adata 266x CF
    - 2gb SanDisk Extreme III (v1)
    - 2gb Lexar MS Pro Duo

Even with a slow card, I rarely shoot continuous bursts of more than 9 frames, so the slow write speed of the dual layer RiDATA cards doesn't bug me. Their read speed is as advertised near the 233x mark, and that's where I don't like to waste time. However, both the old Sandisk and Adata cards are noticeably faster at clearing the buffer..

I'm afraid to say it out loud, (knocking on wood) but I've had no quality issues with these CF cards. I format after every use and never run the camera to 0% battery when shooting, so that may help...

Re: What's in your digital camera? (memory card)
    7 SanDisk Ultra II 2GB
1 Ridata 150x Pro 2GB (my favorite card, too bad they discontinued them)
    1 SanDisk Ultra II 1GB
1 SanDisk vanilla 512 (had one spot left over in my wallet so might as well fill it)
    6 SanDisk Ultra II 4GB
    2 Kingston SDHC Class 6 8GB
    1 Kingston vanilla SD 2GB
    1 2GB Eye-Fi

SDs used with a JOBO SD/SDHC to CF adapter in a pinch, but mostly used with my TX1.

    Total: 61.5GB

Stored in two Think Tank wallets. The only CF storage I've been able to find that doesn't utterly suck.
