This Is What A Pro Photographer Looks Like

This is what a real pro photographer looks like. Note the beat-up, dusty cameras and disintegrating camera bag. The photographer is John Kerr. He's been shooting bike stuff of all kinds for decades. He was probably shooting fior BMX Action when I was in Jr High School

I guess I look like a pro then. Not trying to fool anyone though.

I have noticed that seasoned pros are given to wearing funny hats. What up with that?

Note the naturally shaded eyes. Note the string to keep the hat in place. Note the ability to push/fold the brim up for easy access to viewfinder

Sure looks like he knows a thing or two about getting the shot!
I actually just recently bought a hat similar to that one for sun protection that I don't have to worry about hitting the flash on when shooting. So I have that going for me which is nice.

Yeah, I have three of those hats! I can't afford the ones that make me a pro, though.

You may think you know pain, but until you've sunburned your ears, you know NOTHING of pain!

Paul, the brim on yours is too stiff. Nice shade, but won't move for the flash unit.

Re: This Is What A Pro Photographer Looks Like

I have sunburned the ears at the Spanish GP, as a spectacle wearer I can confirm it hurts.
So does the bald spot, unaccustomed as it is to bright sun (it's used to rain).
Hence the hat ... oh and with the OM-D at high ISO I don't need no steenkin' flash.
