This is what I woke up to this morning. And they call Banning a desert town...hah!

I'm going to have to move to California just to try out my new snowshoes... It's been in the 40's-50's here all winter, and California and Texas are getting all the snow... It's finally getting cold enough here for the rain to freeze, which is making driving extra fun!!

No offense but as far as I'm concerned you can all of that you want! We're doing the feast or famine thing here in Western Illinois. We got a huge snowstorm the first week of December (13+ inches) then temps in the 40s-50s, then today drizzle that turned into freezing rain and now it's sleeting. Fun, fun. Ugh.
It's hard to tell by looking at the map, is Banning considered in the "high desert"? Just curious, since I trained at Ft. Irwin and TwentyNine Palms while on active duty.

Dang, the weather is messed up, Indiana is getting nothing but rain and California is getting the SNOW! ARGH!!!!!

I second that, I'm up here in Minnesota with only little patches of icy snow that survived the last warm spell left, mostly just grass and dirt. To make things worse its been pretty cold at the same time, but no snow. so much for any skiing
wow, you folks are in a creatively funny mood. From anthrax to coca to bean bag explosion! LOL
I Fly, no Banning is not really in the desert. Some people just like to say so. We are actually on the edge of the low desert, about 20 minutes west of palm springs just off Interstate 10.

Ah, so you don't get to enjoy the wildly varying temps from day to night? I remember being at Ft. Irwin about this time back in '86 or '87 and it was in the high 80s or low 90s during the day then drop into the low 40s at night. Lots of fun!
There are a bunch of jokers in this bunch aren't there? ...did you call homeland security about the anthrax yet? ;)

nice shots, and I'm kind of jealous. I really wanted to get out snowboarding this year, but it looks like that won't be happening very much, if at all.
Heck I live in Canada and California has the snow? We haven't even had that much snow yet this entire year. Although it snowed last night.. sort of.. there was a small trail of snow on my back porch this morning... gonna have the break out the broom.
I really like that second shot of the snow on the green foliage. It really seems to show the contrast of expected weather types.
