Well, I was forced to upgrade to the Canon XT

Because some creep stole my 300D! I was shooting in a club, put the camera right in my bag, next to me, ordered a drink and it was GONE out of the bag. They took my palm pilot too! ARGH.

I also got a really nice super wide angle lens, while i was at it. So I took a picture of a bathroom to test it out! Minimal distortion! Yeah!

    Janie,

Sorry to hear of your loss. It's unfortunately there's some people in the world who will do things like that.

    On other news...nice bathroom!

Sometimes, I think, PEOPLE SUCK!!!! The ones that steal stuff anyway. Had a bunch stolen 3+ years ago (EOS-1V, 28mm f2.8, 50mm f2.5 macro, 28-70 f2.8L, 70-200 f2.8L, Rebel 2000, and numerous other lenses and accessories in 2 Tamrac packs). I feel for you. Hope you get over the bad feelings soon.

This is exactly what I was gonna say until I scrolled down far enough to see that Lionheart had beaten me to it, so I'll just second that notion.

Sorry for the loss. Hope you enjoy the new camera. What WA lens did you get?

That bites Janie. While it's nice to upgrade, it's better to do it because you want to not because some jerk stole your stuff requiring you to replace it.

Which WA lens did you pick up?

Well, I definately splurged, since it was about $800 for the lense - the Canon EFS 10-22 mm, f/3.5-4.5 USM. I'm loving it!

After reading a review that said the lens had next to no distortion I put it on my wishlist. Thanks for the real world peek at it.

Here's a few more shots with that lens - I wanted to test it out on a little house, a seashore bungalow. The bedrooms were teeny attic type rooms! the livingroom and dining room were okay sized but you really get the see the entire room with this lens!

Re: Well, I was forced to upgrade to the Canon XT

Thanks for the extra shots. The distortion is practically non-existent, isn't it? That lens may have just moved up a few places on my list. Glad you're enjoying the new equipment.

Me too,. but now I wish I hadn't bought the EF-S but a normal EF lens so that it'll work on my 1D bodies.
The investment in lenses turned out to be silly to have the 10-22 on the 1.6 crop body and no way to put it on the full-frame sensor.
