    Wedding Bells!!!

Hi all .. today my eldest daughter got married - the first of my kids to get hitched! She had asked me to do the photography but obviously it would be difficult to do all of it as I had my "father of the bride" duties to do as well... Roger (readingr from this forum) very kindly drove down to give a hand and, between us, I am sure we will produce an album the young couple will be proud of. Roger was a trooper and we owe him a big, big favour. Neither of us are wedding photographers (Roger has done one which is one more than me!)

There is a huge amount of work to do before we get to the album stage, but here are three from the day with just a little post-processing.

The first is Jessica putting on her makeup. The second is just after the registers had been signed. The third is at the cutting of the cake.

    Cheers
    Mike

    Re: Wedding Bells!!!

Thanks guys It was a great day all round!

mn shutterbug - yes it was. Wedding cake in the UK is normally a fruit cake covered in marzipan and icing. Neither the bride nor groom are very fond of fruit cake, so they opted for a more unusual chocolate layer cake. Very nice it was too!

Very nice! How did I miss this yesterday? I remember your post about this when you were in the planning stage and it sounds like everything went well. Chocolate wedding cake - great idea!

The flowers with the champagne glasses is awesome. BTW, I've never attended a wedding where they served chocolate cake. That was an awesome idea. White cake gets a bit boring.

    Re: Wedding Bells!!!

Looks like to was a wonderful day. I have one daughter left to walk down the aisle. Hope it comes out as well as yours did. Congrats to the bride and groom, hope they appreciate the fact that Dad could call on a friend like Roger for a little help .

I would be remiss and certainly not in PR tradition if I didn't remark on the kilt. I know you have a few traditions there that we on other side of the pond don't, but I can't imagine what my daughter would have said if I'd shown up to her wedding in a skirt.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Re: Wedding Bells!!!

Old Timer .. the groom (Chris) actually has Scottish ancestry - so it was quite natural for him to wear the kilt as formal dress. It was his request that the principal men did likewise - something we were happy to do. I've never worn one before but I have to admit that, as formal wear, it certainly does the business!

    Re: Wedding Bells!!!

as for the third one i think that maybe if you cropped a bit from the bottom and top, cloned out the light over on the left and boosted saturation a little you might have a wall hanger there !!

congrats to the bride and groom, may they have every happiness in the future life together..

My mother was a Campbell so I wear her colors (not sure this is the correct word, "plaid-tartan"?) with great pride.

Well done and congrats to your Daughter and son in law Mike. Very nice set of photographs too; far nicer inmo than the static "perfect" disciplined stuff that the pros produce.
I look forward to seeing you in the skirt on another Sun/Sat outing maybe?

Congratulations to the bride and groom. Your shots are great Mike! I'm glad that my daughter isn't quite 12 yet, I still have her for a few more years. I'm glad my family was almost all Irish, the Scot portion only got brought up when my grandfather was mad at myself or Dad, then he would threaten to by us a pair of "Those damn skirts".

Many happy wishes and prayers to the happy couple!

Geez that's showing ya age Mike

Actually I wish my eldest two would marry off, I'd save a load of money keeping them here!

Lovely photos, Choc Mud cakes are becoming more tradition than the traditional fruit cake here in Aus. I had one smothered with flowers for mine. Your daughter had very pretty flowers in her bouquet! Lovely vibrant colours. Well done Pop!

    Very nice!

It looks like it was a very nice wedding, very intimate, which I love.

    Alison,

I have sorted through the first 100 so I have only got 400 to go. I won't post anything on here as I think its only right that the Bride, Groom, and family see them first and then I'll leave it up to Mike to post any that he wants.

Will try and get it all done this weekend and post them to Mike on DVDs
