I love performance art. Did you ever see the video of that group that froze in time for five minutes in the middle of Grand Central Station?

    That second shot is priceless.

Definitely - great stuff here! I do like the schedule or whatever it is showing through the window in the first shot, but looking at the watch trumps that.

Wonderful Gary!! Just not the kind of scene you run across out here in rural America.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I go to NYC frequently and always enjoying seeing those statues and other "scenes" at Port Authority.

From now on every time I see them I'll think of these shots.

Excellent and creative - and fun!

    Re: Waiting in line . . .

Mike, glad I was able to share the moment with you. I happened to be on my way to shoot a dance performance last Thursday and was in the Port with all my gear.
the funniest part of the whole thing was when i first arrived there someone else had stood behind him for a few moments until they realized. She quitely removed herself. I had not had my camera out yet for that one.

    Re: Waiting in line . . .

Sebastian, I had never saw that Performance but thanks to Ben I did watch the video clip. That was very cool indeed.
I like the second shot alot, but somehow I feel that the first one really sets up the second one. I am thnking of putting them together as a diptych.

James, yes the guy in the bg was intrigued. I was using my new 85mm 1.8 prime, and never having used a prime before I was not used to having to move back and forth to get the composition I wanted. I was afraid he would turn and walk away before I could get it together. I need practice with this prime . . .

Steve, OT, yeah this was certainly an entertaining moment. I think the guy was just goofing around as he eventually hooked up with a girlfriend and they laughed and walked off.

Jeta, Liz, Greg, gald you enjoyed these. . . .

Ben, thanks for posting that link. I loved it. Performance art for me is really hit or miss. I have seen some really corny nonsense and then sometimes you see something incredibly cool like the Grand Central Station clip Frozen in time.
    thanks

I love the first one. The man's expression all the way to the left standing next to the pay phones is great....

Yeah, it's funny to watch other peoples reactions to it. People would just stop and stare and seem to wonder why he was waiting there. Lots of other people walk by totally oblivious as they are in their own little world.
The funniest thing was when someone else stood behind him and then quietly slipped off line after they realized what was going on . . .
