    Very very impressed with Adorama

I have to post this and sing Adorama's praises.

My hubby ordered a 17-40mm F/4 L lens from Adorama on Friday 15th December. We are in the UK so we were not expecting to see my lens until after Christmas.
    Well, it arrived today 21st!!!
With nothing happening over the weekend that only makes delivery time 3 and a bit days!!!

The lens was $679.95 and despite having to pay $46.50 postage and £93.91 in import duties we still got it for (roughly totalling £476.25).

The same lens from Warehouse Express was £502.95 including postage and from Jessops £552.20 excluding postage.

Just thought this would be useful for all UK'ers to know

Re: Very very impressed with Adorama

I used to use Adorama to buy all my film and it was great. Now I shoot digital so don't order anymore film.

I still use adoramapix for my casual processing. they are quick, have a lot of options, and are pretty cost effective.

Have had nothing but good service from them as well!

    thanks,
    Wes

Who are they, where are they, how can they possibly know all the rules?

Thanks for this post. I'm glad you had a good experience with Adorama, as they're sponsoring the forums. I've been using them for years and consider them one of the best dealers. You should post something about your experience on the Camera Dealer Feedback Forum.

Re: Very very impressed with Adorama

It was actually because of your post the other day John, that made me try Adorama. I also checked out B&H.
You mentioned both of these dealers in the post and I want to thank you for that.
It was your statement about both dealers shipping worldwide. Saved me over £20 ($40) plus. Might not seem like alot of money to most but when you have 8 children every penny counts.
Thank you so much for that post John.

the only thing I prefer about bh is that they provide you with so many shipping options, while adorama only offers a couple. other than that, they are basically the same in my book. It's just which one has the better deals/cheaper shipping for different products.

Re: Very very impressed with Adorama

Adorama has always done right by me. They are located on 18th street not far from Union Square. I always go into the store (a small little shop at that) to pick up what i need. I also buy my ink cartridges for my Epson 2400, and my papers. They have some of the best prices around and very well stocked.
